Tiny Houses on Skids/Stumps
Tiny Houses on Skids or Stumps (THOS's) are generally considered to be buildings under the National Construction Code and are regulated by the Building regulations. In Victoria Small Second Dwellings are permitted without planning permit in most residential areas.
Tiny House Communities
Victorian Tiny House Communities come in various flavours depending onwhether they are made up of THOW's or THOS's. Developing a community is not for the faint of heart, but they are something that at times of ongoing housing crisis that needs to be supported.

The Victorian Tiny House Association is a organisation that seeks to share information relevant to Australian Tiny House enthusiasts who are living in Victoria. Why that specific? Each State in Australia has its own rules that are different, despite us living in a federation of States. What works in Victoria does not work necessarily in other states. Victorians actually have some advantages over the other states for Tiny Living.
